Kaia Naturals is a North American company that produces 100% biodegradable bamboo facial cleansing cloths. Designed in Canada and manufactured in the United States, the product offers a safe, eco-friendly way to clean and tone skin, and remove makeup, without risking exposure to parabens, sulfate, alcohol or synthetic fragrances. Instead of those harmful toxins, the cloths contain vitamins that enrich and nourish skin.

The company was founded by a former product developer for a major Canadian drug retailer, who had years of experience dealing with many international cosmetic companies. She drew on that experience, as well as the inspiration of a sustainable designer who worked with bamboo fibre, to create the perfect fusion of science, beauty and fashion in her facial cleansing cloths.

Why We Love Them

These amazingly soft clothes make you feel like you’re doing more than removing makeup – your skin perks up as you glide the supple bamboo over your face. They’re packed full of wholesome, nourishing ingredients like organic honey, oat amino acids, spearmint, sunflower oil and eight pure essential oils. But as gentle as they are on your skin, they’re tough enough to remove even waterproof mascara!

Kaia Naturals sees no need to add bleach to their product, and we thank them for that. Bamboo is naturally antimicrobial and hygienic, so it eliminates bacteria and stays fresher and odour-free longer than other fibres.

We’re also tickled that the company doesn’t test their cloths on animals – unless you count the many humans who happily volunteered to try out these velvety inventions. Short of standing under a Hawaiian waterfall, we can’t think of a nicer way to clean our faces.
