Cate & Levi is a Toronto-based company with a passion for creating colourful, quality children’s toys. Made from second-hand wool sweaters, each toy is one-of-a-kind. The sweaters are sourced close to home and sent to an eco-cleaner to be washed in very hot water to ensure that the wool is clean and ready to be reused. The 100% natural wool batting used for stuffing the toys is sourced from Nova Scotia.
Using reclaimed wool reduces demand for new materials production and the resources needed to create them. This lowers carbon emission, reduces excess, and keeps tons of sweaters out of the landfill.
Why We Love Them
We were struck by these toys colourful simplicity. These fun and soft toys are creatively and carefully constructed by hand in the Cate & Levi studio in Toronto. The toys are made with such attention to detail that they are destined to become family keepsakes.
As they acquire sweaters, the colours change but the fun designs remains the same. The line includes stuffed animals, hand puppets and other soft creations that your child will love.
With more than enough used sweaters in Canada to source from, these sustainable products are environmentally responsible, fun, and cute as a button!
