Bummis
About
Bummis is a Montreal-based company that was founded by three moms who were using cloth diapers and wanted to create long-lasting, easy-to-use cloth diapers that were reasonably priced. In 1988, the moms founded Bummis (pronouced Bum-eez), and have developed the product lines to include: one-piece and two-piece diapers, diaper accessories, training pants, and swim diapers with matching tankinis.
The cloth diapers are made from GOTS certified organic cotton, which not only protects the earth from chemical overuse and reduces the carbon footprint of using cloth diapers, but it means a safer, gentler product – from grower to sewer to your baby. Bummi diapers are eco-friendly, and reduce waste to landfills.
Why We Love Them
Bummis focuses on making cloth diaper use easy. If you're worried about pins and gross clean-up, think again! Bummis uses Velcro closures, hi-tech waterproof fabrics and bio-degradable, flushable liners. We love this no-muss, no-fuss approach to diapering baby. And, the flushable liner biodegrades within 8 days in a sewage treatment system or 20 days in a septic tank.
Then, of course, there are the super savings. With single-use diapers Canadian parents can expect to spend anywhere from $2500-3000 in a typical 2 1/2 year period. A great cloth diaper system for the same diapering time frame can cost as little as $300!
All Bummis products are designed to last repeated washings, with no special care required. We love that cloth diapers provide more air circulation, less build-up of temperature, and fewer rash problems. Good for you, good for baby! With all the cute-as-button diapers, wraps and training pants, you'll fall in love with Bummis too.
